Ford Escort RS1600i - 1983 Y Reg in Red,  1 of only 560 made this colour for the UK market.. Genuine 99000 miles with loads of old MOTs of receipts for work carried out. We have the V5, original handbooks, RS1600i Supplementary owners manual. Very clean original looking car which was ziebarted from new. It has been converted to distributor but we have the twin coils in the boot  which will come with it. It also comes with a proper fitted car cover. We also have two sets of keys with it. The plate on it WCC2Y is a private plate which comes with the car. The original plate was DFV221Y

 

Body - Genuine and original RS1600i shell with all the right bits. Very very solid car. Original sills, arches, inner wings. Paintwork is very good and car was much admired recently at a local car show. As you would expect on a car this age there are a couple of very minor marks on it but overall a very very tidy example. Panel gaps are good. Its a non sunroof model and non electric windows. Oriiginal reg DFV 221Y is etched on all windows.

 

Interior - The Seats have recently been retrimmed by Aldridge Trimming. Good door cards, carpet and headlining. Dash has a couple of small cracks on it. Spare dash comes with it which has been repaired but still has one crack in it. Radio has been removed and a voltmeter installed but easily put back to standard.

 

Mechanics - Starts perfect., no smoke or nasty noises. Clutch, Brakes, gearbox all good. Engine was rebuilt in 2021 with all new bearings, gaskets, new pistons, new fuel pump, new clutch, new radiator, new camshaft, followers and rockers. All brake pipes replaced in April 2022. The car is very good mechanically and has thousands spent in the last two years.

 

Wheels - Standard Alloys with 5th spare in the boot .Wheels look to have been refurbed at some point and are very clean and tidy and have the correct Ford Motorsport markings on one spoke..
