1993 Ford Escort RS Cosworth with 69000 Miles in Mallard Green. Advertising on behalf of a friend.. The car has been owned since late 2021, prior to that the previous owner had it 10 years. Its a non sunroof model. There is service history with it as detailed below, which we have here. The car starts runs and drives and is currently MOTD. We can put a years test on it if required. Its a nice tidy example but not concourse, but then they are now 70k plus. Private plate L37 FMC included in the sale.

 

Body .

Escort Cosworth shell in Mallard Green which was repainted at some time in the past. The car looks well and is straight along the sides. There is a few age related blemishes including some stone chips to the front bumper and front of the bonnet, a scratch to the nearside of the rear bumper,  a minor chip on the nearside front alloy wheel, and some perishing of the rubber on the rear spoiler. Also has a small dent and scratch on osr quarter at the top which we are happy to get rectified if someone pays the asking price,

 

Mechanics 

Service history as follows

The  most recent service took place in August 2018 at 68,300 miles, when the last owner carried out a full service which included replacing the cam belt.

Prior to this, the last owner serviced the car himself in 2016 and 2014, performing engine oil and filter changes.

The cars starts runs and drives fine. Small vibration from the exhaust but again we can have a look at this. Uprated brakes and suspension components have been fitted.

 

Interior 

Recaro Cloth interior which all looks original and in generally good condition. As is to be expected given the cars age, its grey cloth-trimmed cabin has a few minor imperfections, including some sagging reported to the headlining, a very small burn in the rear seat, a crack in the plastic trim and electric window switch on the centre console, and a small hole in the boot carpet.

The passenger side electric window works intermittently, one side of the interior light is non functional, and the dashboard clocks LCD screen is damaged.

 

Wheels 

Standard Escort Cosworth Alloys with 4 Good Michelin Sport Pilot tyres. One minor chip on front alloy as previously mentioned.

 

This is a nice tidy example, but not concourse, but with a little effort could be taken to the next level. These cars are continuing to rise in price and must represent a good investment.
