Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport in need of restoration. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. NOVA declaration has been done. UK registration has been applied for and will be received in a few weeks. This car starts runs and drives, but the reality is it will need a full restoration as currentl;y its a clobbered together shonky old sh**box, in its current state.. It is however a genuine sport and could be made into a decent car.

Body - Mk2 Escort export spec shell which has similar strengthening to our RS models. Evidence of a bump at the front previously which has been badly repaired. Will need wings, n/s inner wing as a minimum. Underneath it will need repairs on front floors. Boot wells have previously been repaired and are not great. Chassis rails are solid but dented from jacking up. Paintwork is pretty average at best and is 50 shades of green on the front end. Evidence of filler on inner wings and where slam panel meets.

Mechanics - All looks fairly standard 1600 Sport Car starts and runs. Engine sounds OK to be fair. Gearbox, clutch and brakes seem to do what they should but we have only really driven it around the yard. .Carb looks to have been changed at some point. The car will need checked over from front to back but everything is there..

Interior - Original Sport but a bit scruffy and could do with being replaced / repaired / retrimmed

Wheels - Standard Sport Steels with 175 70 13 tyres.

Genuine sport as shown on the build plate. Dont get fooled by the photos thinking its a weekends work as it needs a full restoration. Please feel free to come and view the car and we have ramps if you want to inspect underneath, Delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote.
