1980 Ford Escort Mk2 1600 Sport. RHD import from South Africa with all tax and duty paid. This car starts runs and drives but it will need work to bring it up to a better standard. Its now fully UK registered

Body - Export spec 1600 Sport shell with extra strengthening similar to our RS models. Good original inner wings, strut tops, Underbonnet area is generally good. Has had a repair on the n/s slam panel corner.  Strut tops have been sanded back to check numbers prior to export. Both boot wells will need repaired. Front outer floors will need repairs . Both chassis rails are solid but a bit dented. Paintwork is ok but no show winner. Rear inner arches will need repaired as well. Needs a bit work but will make a decent shell when done.

 

Mechanics - 1.6 Crossflow and 4 speed box. Car starts runs and drives. Engine is not smoky.  Gearbox and clutch seem ok but the car will need a full mechanical checkover as its a bit cobbled together.

 

Interior - Original sport seats . Fronts are worn and will need repair. Rear seat is very clean. Will need a new dashtop. Headlining is also ripped. Door cards are original but have small speaker holes.

 

Wheels - Laser / Rs Alloys with 175 70 13 tyres. Wheel nuts that are on it dont look the best so it will need a proper set before using it.

 

Not the worst starting point in terms of the shell but will need a bit work. It probably looks a bit better in the photos than it actually is.. Please feel free to come and see the car.
