Ford Cortina 3.0 V6 Pickup. This is a RHD Import from South Africa. This truck is extremely solid and original. It will need MOTD and UK registered but we can assist you with the paperwork. Its done 84000 kms or 53000 miles approximately. These pickups were called a 1 Ton Bakkie in South Africa and this is the later two tone leisure model which had a factory fitted 3.0 V6 engine and 5 speed box.  

 

Body - Cortina Bakkie as they are known in South Africa. This looks like all original panels. Extremely solid and underneath has never been welded. Good inner wings, chassis, floors, doors, bonnet and rear tub. Paintwork is tidy for a truck. This pickup doesnt look like its had a real hard life . It looks to have been used as more of a toy than a working vehicle. There are a few marks on it as you would expect from a 37 year old truck but overall its very presentable.

 

Mechanics - Very quiet 3.0 V6 engine. These engines were uprated in the African cars and were a bit quicker than the 3.0 Essex we got in the 70s. Factory fitted 5 speed box. good brakes, clutch. Runs and drives well. Feel very tight for a 40 year old pickup. Carb may need a bit of fine tuning due to the different climate. It has a bit of a flat spot when cold but much better when its warm.

 

Interior - Upgraded "Leisure" trim similar rather than the vinyl. No rips or tears. Wood door cappings and dash similat to our ghia / crusader cortinas. Very tidy inside for a pick up.

 

Wheels - Original colour coded steels with good tyres
