1971 Ford Cortina MK3 1.6 recently Imported from South Africa. All tax and duty paid and NOVA declaration done. We will fill out all the paperwork so you can UK register it. This car is super original and doesnt appear to have ever been welded or painted. Its really solid and needs a few small jobs doing to get it back on the road.

 

Body - Early MK3 Cortina. Original and solid inner wings, sills, arches, floors, door posts. Real cracking shell. Paint looks original and is still fairly decent. There are a few marks on it as you would expect but with a bit detailing it would be perfectly useable and would retain its originality. You dont find them like this very often. Passenger side mirror is broken and needs replaced

 

Mechanics - Quiet little 1600 crossflow. Starts and runs no problem. Gearbox and clutch are fine. Brakes are a bit spongy and might need a bleed or a look at. Carburettor might need a bit adjustment due to the different climate. All standard running gear. with it being 50 year old it will need a good checkover before sending it down your local B road. Handbrake button has come off and needs attention.

 

Interior - Original green vinyl interior, with green dash, green seat belts, green door cards. Everything is in very good order apart from the drivers seat which has a couple of splits/ Rear seat is mint. Good door cards, dahtop, headlining. Original rubber mat on floors.

 

Wheels - standard steels which could do with a refurb. Tyres look older than me and will probably need replaced.

 

The car was still on the road prior to export, albeit not used very often. Its a cracking original old example. Please feel free to come and see the car. We have a ramp so you can look underneath. delivery can be arranged if required. Please ask for a quote
